The Netspend Skylight One prepaid card was developed to make it easier for employers to pay the salaries of their employees, even if they do not have a bank account. The SkylightPayCard does come with all the key benefits that we traditionally come to enjoy from credit cards and debit cards.
How to Make Payments Using SkylightPayCard?
To give you a brief understanding of the Netspend Skylight One prepaid card, it does function like other debit cards and credit cards. You can use the SkylightPayCard to pay at all the online and offline merchants as per your choice.
Just like you would do with a credit/debit card, you can swipe the SkylightPayCard to perform a transaction, or if you are trying to transact on an online platform, then you can use the details printed on the card, such as the card number, expiry date, CVV, etc. to proceed with the payment.
One major difference that the SkylightPayCard and a regular credit card is that you are only spending the money that exists in your SkylightPayCard, and no credit amount is given to you. So, you can think of the Netspend Skylight One Prepaid card more like a debit card.
However, when compared to a debit card, the SkylightPayCard does accept overdraft payments when the transaction takes your card balance below zero. But, an important point to note here is that you will be charged a fee for an overdraft on your Netspend Skylight One Prepaid card. You authorize the issuers of the SkylightPayCard to charge you an overdraft fee when you agree to the terms and conditions while registering for the card. Thus, if you do not want to incur any additional fee on your SkylightPayCard, then you must not conduct transactions that take your card balance below zero.
How to Add Funds to SkylightPayCard?
Now, talking about how funds are loaded into the SkylightPayCard, the primary source will be your employer. When it comes to funds loaded directly by your employer to the SkylightPayCard, there is no limit on the amount, thus your actual salary can be added to the card.
In the case that the existing funds in the SkylightPayCard are insufficient, the cardholder can then choose to supplement the funds by reloading the card. SkylightPayCard reloads can be done either via authorized ReadyLink or Visa resellers that are available nationwide, or can also be done via supported online platforms.
SkylightPayCard deposits can also be done in the form of MoneyGram ExpressPayments as well.
It is important to note that for additional funds added by the cardholder, there will be a processing fee added on top of the funds top-up by the agency offering the service. Also, there are limits set for funds load, wherein it is set at $5000 per day, and the card can only have a maximum limit of up to $10,000. The SkylightPayCard cannot hold funds greater than $10,000 at any given time.
